The Government of Nepal decided to establish The Consulate General of Nepal in Dubai to provide consular services and safeguard the interests of Nepali citizens residing or working in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), particularly in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Its formation reflects Nepal"s diplomatic strategy to better serve its migrant workforce and deepen bilateral relations with the UAE.
The Consulate General is now in the phase of establishment and will start operation in near future. It's main functions include issuance and renewal of passport for Nepali citizens, travel documents (ETDs) for stranded Nepali citizens, issuance of visas for foreigners visiting Nepal, attestation of documents (birth, marriage, academic certificates), labor approval verification and handling grievances, supporting Nepali nationals during emergencies or legal issues and performing other various activities to promote Nepal"s economic diplomacy in Dubai and Northern Emirates.
